The Twins
Paris, France
This apartment, located a few steps from the Halles, has been divided into two micro-units designed as twin flats. This design is characterized by the continuity of the facade designed by Hausmann. The ten windows, overlooking a Parisian public space, allow the expansion of the living space into the urban theater.
The functional spaces including the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are concentrated on the side of the blind wall of the apartments leaving the façade and the sequence of windows that characterizes it untouched. Integrated furniture allows the functional elements to be concentrated while structuring the living spaces in both flats.
The bedrooms are delimited by the integrated furniture. This delimitation is a reinterpretation of the principle of a canopy bed. It allows to create intimate spaces while occupying a minimal surface.
